Amanda Glassman

Executive Advisor to the President, Inter-American Development Bank

Amanda Glassman is Executive Advisor to the President of the Inter-American Development Bank. She brings more than 25 years of experience working and publishing on health, social protection, evidence, and data issues in low- and middle-income countries, with an emphasis on Latin America and the Caribbean.

Prior to her current role, Ms. Glassman served as Executive Vice President and Senior Fellow at the Center for Global Development (CGD), a Washington, D.C.–based think tank, and as CEO of CGD Europe in London. Earlier, she was Principal Technical Lead for Social Protection and Health in the IDB’s Social Sector, where she led policy dialogue and operations with member countries. Since entering the Bank in 1997 as a Junior Professional, she has also served as Senior Social Development Specialist in the Office of Evaluation and Oversight (2005–2006) and as Social Development Specialist in the former Regional Operations 3 Department (1998–2005). From 2006 to 2008, while on leave from the IDB, she was a Fellow and Deputy Director of the Global Health Financing Initiative at the Brookings Institution.

Amanda Glassman holds a Master of Science from the Harvard University School of Public Health and a Bachelor of Arts from Brown University.
